BASF recently introduced Uvinul Easy for sunscreen formulations. The material makes it easy to create sun care products with SPF and broad-spectrum protection. Simply adding water to Uvinul Easy, even in a cold process, gives a fine oil-in-water emulsion. Formulators need only add thickeners, preservatives and fragrance to create an effective sun care product. The SPF of the finished product is defined by the percent of Uvinul Easy in the formula, according to BASF. Recommended usage level in the EU ranges from 6 to 50%.
